GM, OnStar unveil stolen-vehicle cutoff device

General Motors and its OnStar unit today planned to demonstrate technology that can help the telematics service further aid in the recovery of OnStar subscribersâ?? stolen vehicles. The technology, called Stolen Vehicle Slowdown, lets OnStar advisers, working with law enforcement, send a signal to a subscriberâ??s stolen vehicle to reduce engine power and gradually slow the vehicle.
